Abstract
Urinary exosomes, which are nanosized vesicles that are secreted by cells that line the urinary tract, have emerged as a promising frontier in diagnostics and therapies due to the fact that they are accessible without causing any surgical procedures and contain a substantial amount of molecular cargo. In addition to carrying proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, these vesicles also transport nucleic acids, which indicate the physiological status of the urinary system and possibly other sections of the body. This provides a unique window into the state of health and sickness. Even while there are still obstacles to overcome in terms of standardizing isolation and characterisation procedures, as well as completely comprehending the biological activities of these substances, the possibilities for clinical translation are enormous. This article intends to provide a comprehensive overview of urinary exosome biology, including its origin, characteristics, isolation techniques, and diverse applications in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. It will also highlight both the current progress that has been made in this rapidly evolving field as well as the future directions that it will take.
